A new layout is up!

I need to clarify a mistake I made on my previous update...Well, I started watching "Hana Kimi" without any research, just pick it up by sudden interest. While taking a break from watching the series, for an hour or so I googled the main actors' information on the web and found that I got two of the main leads' last names wrong...how careless of me!! I guess I'm kind of use to last names that I'm familiar with such as Chan and Yang...thus making the mistakes. Ella's last name is Chen, not Chan so it's Ella Chen and Jiro's last name is Wang, not Yang...Jiro Wang is his name. But hey, at least I only got Wu Chun's name right! Back the the series, I'm really enjoying Hana Kimi because it is HILARIOUS...I keep laughing hysterically at all the actors' fantasized actions and expressions. Some funny scenes below:

The group are talking about the approaching of Valentine's Day and Jiro is glancing over at Ella while Ella is gazing dreamily at Wu Chun, imagining them hugging and feeding chocolate to one another affectionately; then suddenly, Wu Chun says "Aren't you a guy?" and Ella goes "Yikes, yes I am a guy" and Wu Chun jumps from their hug. You have to watch the scene to see how funny it is.

In the meantime, Jiro keeps thinking to himself about his love to Ella.. He questions and denies his love for a "guy"....and he gets excited whenever he sees Ella. He even imagines her as a cheerleader on the soccer field..and keeps laughing so HAPPILY as he hugs onto her. Jiro's too cute for words...:) You can see from below how sweet he feels whenever he's with Ella.

And the guy who ties his hair half back I mentioned in my previous post (not the head of class because I just notice he also has his hair half tied back) cracks me up everytime he magically appears behind everyone's back..He would always point his finger and looks up to talk to his friends who are "up there" [a.k.a spirits]...And the actor who plays the gay doctor is brilliant..! I really like his performance.

Oh, the can Jiro sipped from Ella is a fruit can...There is a flashback of the scene when Wu Chun is deciding which drink to get and remembers how much Ella likes the fruit drink. Of couse, he gets that drink and gives to Ella. She, in returns, is very happy because he cares for her.

The bit when Ella tries to toughen herself up in front of Wu Chun, not realizing he already knew her identity...some group pics:

I finished with Hana Kimi very late last Saturday. I told myself I won't be able to sleep until I get a sense of completion out of this series. And what do you know, the series has ended and I'm still bothered by the ending and continued to be awaken for another mere hour or so. The ending was unexpected. Beware of spoilers below as I reveal the ending to Hana Kimi:

Ella decided to tell Wu Chun her real identity as a girl and Wu Chun also wanted to tell Ella that he already knew about it. However, they are constantly interrupted by their crazy friends no matter where they chose as the place for confession.

Finally they got their chance when they stumbled upon the school's announcement room. Of course as with typical situation from series, the volume button is accidently pushed (in this case by Ella) and this enalbed their friends from the outside to hear every details of their conversation through the school's speaker. Ella started off by saying she likes Wu Chun ever since she stepped into the school and was about to reveal her identity next but is stopped by Wu Chun who then wanted to confess first. They kept going back and forth on who get to speak first as their friends were anxiously awaiting for the answers. Of course, they are once again abruptedly get interrupted because their friends marched in and demanded to know about the "secret" Ella was about to expose.

After this incident, Ella is convinced that she needed to return to America as she feels her identity is in danger of revealing. Early morning, she bid farewell to the school and turned to leave, only to be stopped by her friends who then teased her about her deep secret. Wu Chun then whispered to Ella's ears that he made up a lie that she needed to fly back to America to get a double eyelid surgery and that was the secret. He went on to say that she could get it here in Taiwan...at the very end, Ella along with all the guy friends happily walked as Wu Chun thought to himself that it is best to keep his relationship with Ella at the current stage.  Simply, he prefers Ella to keep disguising herself as guy and just enjoys the relationship they're having with one another.

Verdict: I won't put any sort of rating scae but I'll give some of my comments on the series. This series is enjoyable in its entertaining aspect. If you can look past the exaggerations along with the over the top and silly plot, Hana Kimi is highly enjoyable for its comedy. However, I want to note that it was very funny my first time watching it. The second time however, would wears out the comedic effects. I had the pleasure of watching the first 10 episodes again because my mom wanted to watch the series. Also the later half of the series aren't as interesting as the beginning, not to mention less funny. Another factor for you to consider the series? Wu Chun and Jiro Wang for eye-candy...Anyhow, I'd say give the first few episodes a chance. I think this is one of those series that you either love or hate at first watch.

One obvious loop hole I notice from the series lies in Wu Chun's storyline. Did he ever sort out the troubles with his family..eg: his little brother? They led us to the problem but it never get sovled. And I am sure I didn't miss a lot of minutes on the series. Just ocassionally when the series was on and I went to get some snacks. I doubt problems would be solved in that short duration. It made me wonder whether this series is set up for a sequel? There has been speculations flowing around but I read news somewhere that the director of Hana Kimi stated there won't be a sequel.

Oh well, it won't bother me for too long..the ending that is!
